The Fundamentals of Colour

Jane Strother

2 day residential course with Tiptoe Yoga Retreats.

Tuesday 7th June and Wednesday 8th June 2022

Increase your sensibility to colour in painting! Identify the three fundamental aspects of colour, hue, saturation and value and learn how to manipulate them.

The course is planned around exercises and studies from still life or the immediate landscape at Tiptoe. The focus is on unpicking these three aspects so that you can see how each one works to help build a resonance between one colour and another, to achieve greater impact for more exciting painting. You will work in acrylics (for speed).

There will be some opportunity to build on skills and knowledge you already have, and to make representational or more abstracted work. The aim is to enjoy the process and to finish with a plan of action for further painting at home.

You will need to bring your own materials. It is important that you read the list of materials required.

Details about accommodation can be found at https://www.tiptoeyoga.com/our-retreats. Speak to Annabel.
